THE TEAM
The Open Innovation team at Farfetch is a lean team of innovation experts engaging with internal stakeholders and best-in-class tech startups to identify, evaluate and deploy new growth opportunities and technologies that will continue revolutionizing the luxury sector. We provide insights and strategic recommendations, drive pilot execution, and connect across functions within the Farfetch Group to pursue innovation at scale through a build-buy-partner approach.
We are executing across various focuses, from 3D and Digital Fashion to AI and many other emerging and established opportunity areas.The Open Innovation team is part of the Group Industry Relations Function. Your role will be pivotal in driving the Open Innovation agenda for the Farfetch Group.
THE ROLE
Reporting to our Senior Strategy & Program Manager, in this role you’ll be part of the Open Innovation team and be responsible for driving the execution of Farfetch’s innovation projects with startups and the wider startup community. The role will help the Open Innovation team manage, deliver and scale our growing POC pipeline, from process development to brand campaign execution - ensuring we continue to grow our impact, products and experiences.
WHAT YOU´LL DO
- Work alongside the Innovation Principals to execute on fashion-tech partnerships for key internal and external stakeholders, overseeing all aspects from establishing KPIs to determining pilot success and rollout strategy, to developing robust strategies and execution plans
- Establish key processes and ways of working with internal and external stakeholders
- Own the set up and ongoing project management of cross-functional projects, including creation of project scope, project management documentation, coordinating meetings, stakeholder communication, and ensuring technical feasibility with engineering teams
- Own creation of strategic content and communication of decisions and deadlines to broader stakeholder team
- Track and manage dependencies to unblock partnership development, anticipating risks and putting mitigations in place and escalating to management when needed
- Set and drive agendas for meetings, ensuring action items are followed up on and plans are communicated across teams
- Maintain outstanding relationships both internally and externally through effective communication, reporting and problem solving
WHO YOU ARE
- Highly experienced in cross-functional and/or multiple workstream project management, with the ability to tailor approach and deploy different methodologies to create structure and accountability and deliver projects on time
- Ability to work independently and autonomously drive workstreams, managing multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously and responding with urgency to deliver against deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to concisely draw out key insights, including experience creating documents to influence stakeholders at Executive level
- Exceptional problem-solving skills that can be used to find a path forwards through occasional ambiguity
- Pragmatic, logic-driven and solution-focussed, with a clear understanding of how to prioritize and recommend what is critical to execution and successful project delivery
- Positive, collaborative, and taking an engaging approach to working with colleagues and startups, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- You have a minimum of 5 years of work experience either in a startup, corporate strategy, management consulting or project management role
- Experience in e-commerce and the luxury industry is a plus
